Episode 2a: Cooling Meals

No-Oven Dinner Ideas for Hot Evenings

There are evenings when turning on the oven feels like too much.

And in summer, those evenings come more often than most people plan for.

And that’s okay!

This is where the strategy of “making a little extra” pays off… Something we will cover in more detail next week.

But for now, here are a few simple, no-oven meal ideas you can rely on:

• chilled bean salad + fruit
• grain bowl + yogurt-based dressing
• tuna + crackers + sliced vegetables
• cottage cheese + tomatoes + olive oil + fresh herbs (basil, thyme, cilantro)
• leftover chicken + greens + vinaigrette
• hummus + vegetables + flatbread

Each of these:

• requires minimal effort
• reduces time in the kitchen
• supports simple meal planning

You don’t always need a new recipe.

You need a system that works when the kitchen feels like the last place you want to be.

Here’s a list of items that you can pick and choose from to prep ahead.  Print this out and keep it on the fridge for quick inspiration.

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list.  Just a little “jump starter” to help create a beautiful light meal!
